The Cincinnati Reds and Detroit Tigers face off at Comerica Park in an interleague battle set for 7:05PM Eastern Time. The Reds will send youngster Michael Lorenzen to the bump with his 1-2 record ERA of 3.63 and a WHIP of 1.39 on the season. Lorenzen struggled in his last outing giving up five earned runs and his record over his last three trips to the bump is 0-1 with an ERA of 5.40. The Tigers will send Kyle Ryan who has a record of 0-0 with an ERA of 2.57 and a WHIP of 0.57. His last trip to the bump was a spot start for Verlander and because the Tigers sent Greene down to Triple A it has opened up this start for Ryan. The numbers in this contest point to one outcome as the Tigers have been monsters when it comes to interleague play posting a record of 67-24 their last ninety-one interleague home affairs. Detroit has taken care of business when they are supposed to with a record of 39-12 in interleague home games when facing a team with a losing record. The Reds have found the interleague portion of their schedule to be most difficult especially on the road facing left-handed starters posting a record of 1-6. Unfortunately the losing doesn’t end there they are a miserable 0-7 their last seven versus teams from the American League Central Division. We want to play ON MLB home favorites after their starter threw at least six innings and allowed six or fewer hits in his last start.
