I believe we are getting some great value here with the total at 7.5 given the splits of today's starting pitching matchup. Atlanta's Alex Wood has an ugly 7.29 ERA and 1.783 WHIP over his last 3 starts, but a big reason for that is one bad start in the thin air at Coors Field. He still has a strong 3.11 ERA in 12 road starts, plus he's got a dominant 2.84 ERA in 2 interleague outings.
Baltimore will counter with Kevin Gausman, who pitched extremely well in his lone home start. He didn't allow a run and gave up just 4 hits in 6 1/3 innings of work. Gausman has an impressive 1.286 WHIP in 4 starts and I look for him to shutdown an anemic Braves offense that is averaging just 2.6 runs and hitting .225 as a team over their last 7 games.
UNDER is a dominant 16-4 in Atlanta's 20 games in the month of July and 14-5 in the Orioles last 19 after a 3-game stretch where they posted an OBP of .260 or worse. UNDER is also 16-3 in the Braves last 19 interleague games as a dog of +151 to +200 and 6-1 in Baltimore's last 7 versus a team with a losing record. Take the UNDER!
