These plays are a continuation of my 'arbitrage' wager where I am selling the Yankees and buying the Blue Jays. The strategy started 36 days days ago when the Yankees held a 6 1/2 game lead over the Blue Jays and is based on the premise that Toronto will catch and pass the NY Yankees. I'm now targeting Toronto to have a 5 game lead before stopping this daily arbitrage. Remember though, the timing is not important, but the trend that has Toronto taking over the lead and building a lead over the Yankees is paramount.
For the first 36 days I have recommended this strategy, it has made the $100 player a very nice $1478 and for the Dime Player a nice bonus of $14,780.
Given the freak injury to Tulowitski where he suffered a small crack in his left shoulder blade, I amy be exiting this strategy. Talk is he will be out for 2 weeks, which still gets the Blue Jays into the playoffs with him as the starting SS. Since he was acquired, the blue Jays have gone an incredible 32-9. He is not the sole reason for that record, but he certainly is a big part of the offensive chemistry. They were shut out Sunday, but that is just one game and we will see how they do once they start their next series Tuesday.
Yankees find themselves on the road in a pick-em lined game against the Rays. Not good news noting that the Rays are a near-perfect 13-1 (+12.1 Units) against the money line in home games facing fielding teams turning just 0.8 or less DP's/game in the second half of the season over the last 3 seasons. Sabathia is on the hill and he has not fared well in these situations. He is just 12-22 (-16.5 Units) against the money line in road games vs. teams whose hitters strike out 7 or more times/game in the second half of the season since 1997. (Team's Record). Further, Rays are a solid  26-16 (+9.2 Units) against the money line against left-handed starters this season. Take the Rays.
