Free Pick on Blue Jays -159

Toronto showed a lot of resilience in the ALDS, rallying from a 0-2 deficit to win 3 straight to take the series against the Rangers. I don't know that the Blue Jays will be able to come back and win this series against KC, but I like their chances of getting a win at home in Game 3.

Toronto will give the ball to Marcus Stroman, who has pitched extremely well since joining the rotation late in the season. Stroman has a 2.25 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 6 starts, with the Blue Jays going 5-1 in those 6 outings. I look for Stroman to out perform Royals starter Johnny Cueto, who has been widely inconsistent since being traded to KC. Cueto's only start against the Blue Jays came in Toronto back on 7/31 and he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings of a loss. I just don't see Cueto being able to keep the Blue Jays' bats quiet for a third straight game.

Royals are  1-6 in Cueto's 7 road starts and he's just 3-10 in his last 13 road outings in night games. KC as a team is just 4-11 in their last 15 after allowing 3 runs or less in 3 straight games and 2-7 in their last 9 road games against a team that's won more than 60% of their home games. Blue Jays are 37-14 in their last 51 home games against a right-handed starter and 27-8 in their last 35 home games as a favorite of -150 to -200. Take Toronto!
